artstudent!michael was shy but always the kindest soul you knew. He came into the library nearly every day after class, which meant you saw him often since you had your job at the library. You smiled every time he came in, giggling slightly when he blushed and would sit at one of the computers, doing research for his art history course. Every day was the same routine, Michael would come in and smile at you, often being the only face you saw every day. You would wave, he would not. He would sit down and hide his face in something, you would sit down at the desk and doodle. And every day he would get up and fiddle with his hands and walk towards your desk, opening and closing his mouth before blushing and scurrying out of the library quickly. Most days you would just smile and brush it off, but one day you really wanted to hear what he had to say. Just as he was about to walk away, you shook your head and called out, “Wait, come back.”

He would swallow and turn around, biting his lip, “uh, yeah?”

“You had something to say?” You asked, smiling, “you do every day. But you never say it. And I wanna hear.”

“Well…” he swallowed deeply, his hands trembling just the slightest, “in my class we have this big assignment due at the end of the semester and it’s a really big deal and- I, I just….we’re supposed to draw the most beautiful thing in our life and I just….I wanted to ask if I could draw you…a-and I know it’s really stupid and kinda creepy so I’ll stop coming here-”

“Michael,” you stopped him, blushing red but still smiling wide, “the semester is almost over. You better get going.”
