heading over to bestfriend!michael’s house, all of your makeup smeared and your breath is ragged and even, not just because of the fact that you sprinted all the way over but your body is completely racking with sobs, and he takes one look at you, pulling you into his warm chest. “fighting again?” he sighed deeply, referencing you parents. all you could do is not your head, hiccuping a bit, and he cradled you in his arms on the couch shushing you softly in your ear and starting to ramble about funny stories he’s had of you from over the past, and then you’re laughing too, although you know it’s bad at home, you’re with michael, and at a certain point it’s near midnight, and michael nudges you awake, his cheeks blushing a bit from how close your noses are [brushing together even]. he asks a “[y/n] are you sure you don’t need to go home?” and you’re not sure if it’s in the moment that you need him most that you do it, or if the darkness of the room strikes something in side of you, but in that split second you lean into him, pressing your mouth softly to his “i’m already home, michael.”
